Here we are, back again for another Forzanightly fix. February saw a nice bit of stability after the rather hectic opening month of Revolution Online Racing, as making it this far was a milestone for us. 1 month in the biz, we’re in it for the long haul now guys and girls.
The first race of the month saw the GMC Pick Up Trucks travel to the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway to take on the Brickyard. The first oval of the series and the first oval race for many of the drivers here at ROR, so that was to prove interesting. thebeardyguy took pole by some margin, as he was one of the few drivers with oval experience, with a pole time of 1:07.731. He then saw the pole position turn into a race victory, setting another unmatched lap time during the race. Tyronee487163 took 2nd in the race ahead of FIA LMC Alflo who was in a race long battle with TheSpig for the final podium spot.

Race 2 (round 4) was much of the same for thebeardyguy, who took pole from the fastest lap in race 1, he took that and ran away from the pack to another convincing win. TheSpig this time managed to better his 4th place from race 1 and made it to the 2nd step of the podium taking advantage of a spill from FIA LMC Alflo who retired from the race. Tyronee487163 saw a double podium weekend though taking 3rd ahead of BakedBean57. The fastest lap again went to thebeardyguy who made it a perfect weekend scoring maximum points, the first time it has happened here at ROR.
This left thebeardyguy with a commanding lead over the remaining drivers, sitting pretty on 91pts ahead of FIA LMC Alflo on 60pts, with TheSpig and BakedBean57 following closely on 57pts and 55pts respectively.

The next event was to be the VW Scirocco Cup. BakedBean57 put aside the poor results of the oval racing and took pole at the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit. A time of 2:13.110 was enough to get the bonus point. Race 1 was a bit of a romp for BakedBean57, as he managed to stretch out a large lead whilst the rest of the drivers squabbled for the podium spots. BakedBean57 took the win and in doing so took the point for fastest lap too. TidalSwifty 23 was the best of the rest in 2nd closely followed by the beige beast himself, Tyronee487163. With TheSpig and BUCKO VERSUS in the mix too rounding out the top 5.
Race 2 was a different story however, as BakedBean57 could not repeat his race 1 performance and took the last step on the podium. Race 2 was all about TidalSwifty 23, who managed to pull clear of the chasing pack and set some blistering times in doing so, resulting in him taking the win and the fastest lap bonus point. 2nd went to Tyronee487163. This meant the table saw BakedBean57 sitting atop it, on 71pts, ahead of ObscurePluto7 on 51pts. BUCKO VERSUS is in 3rd on 48pts with TheSpig and TidalSwifty 23 tied on points for 4th with 44pts.
Next up, a trip back to the 60’s and to Lime Rock South Circuit. The Pre-66 championship looked to be very even so far, but after qualifying, it looked anything but. Cortina 1, 2, 3 and all three Mustang’s lining up in the bottom 4. FIA LMC Alflo took the point for pole with a time of 1:01.319 and the nature of Lime Rock showing that power isn’t always everything. Lime Rock South also showed that one mistake can completely change your race. Pole was not converted to a win by FIA LMC Alflo, as a coming together with TidalSwifty 23 in a battle for the lead resulted in the pair of

them dropping down the field. Tyronee487163 was able to capitalise on this incident and managed to run away to a comfortable win, with the Mini’s of ObscurePluto7 and BakedBean57 making up the rest of podium. TidalSwifty23 did get the consolation of fastest lap bonus point, but it was the only point he was to receive for race 1, as his crash saw him lapped and finish down in 11th.
Race 2 saw another incident for FIA LMC Alflo, ending his race weekend with a very low point haul. TidalSwifty23 managed to make up for his disastrous race 1, with a victory and a fastest lap. 2nd went to Tyronee487163, but only just as BakedBean57 almost capitalised on a last lap mistake, but was just too far back so took home 3rd . 4th was thebeardyguy who managed to show the Mustang wasn’t quite useless around the short circuits.
Rounds 5 & 6 saw the championship table still topped by thebeardyguy with 98pts, followed by TidalSwifty 23 on 89pts followed very closely by BakedBean57 on 87pts. The big loser from this weekend was FIA LMC Alflo who’s 6th place finish and DNF saw him drop behind both ObscurePluto7 and Tyronee487163 in the overall leaderboard.
The final Forza event to be covered in this volume is the beloved RTCC. This week from Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. A few new faces were present for Rounds 3&4 of the Revolution Touring Car Championship, and they were in for a treat of a weekend. The qualifying was very close at the front, with thebeardyguy pipping PPS Tdawg046 by less than 0.05 seconds, 2:13.298 was the pole time.

The racing was very close throughout the 15-car grid, with the BMW of PPS Tdawg046 making a much better getaway than thebeardyguy on the front row. This sparked a race long battle for the win. PPS Tdawg046 managed to keep the Audi at bay for a few laps, but then the tables turned and it was a case of the BMW applying the pressure. It almost paid off as a last lap attempt ended in slight contact between the pair, but both came out unscathed and eventually thebeardyguy took the chequered flag. PPS Tdawg046 brought it home but only just, as an onlooking Mercedes driven by TidalSwifty 23 was only a second back. TidalSwifty 23 also made the most of his clean running air and took the bonus point for fastest lap.
The race 2 grid was reversed from the fastest laps in race 1, so it put some of the faster guys to the back of the pack. This again made for interesting racing. It also put some of the less experienced racers up front, and some of these drivers weren’t used to the pressure so cracked. A rather large incident involving the front 3 cars occurred at turn 2/3 and is being looked into, but this saw a trio of Audi’s make it to the front to form an early 1, 2, 3. This wasn’t to last however. thebeardyguy managed to sneak ahead of the pack whilst the other drivers fought for position, taking the chequered flag for a second time and the 25pts. He managed to set the fastest lap of the race too, claiming the bonus point with a 2:12.200, which was only nearly matched by the hard charging PPS Tdawg046. 2nd went to the Team Beige Toyota Avensis of Tyronee487163, ahead of TidalSwifty 23 and BakedBean57, who was nearly caught by aforementioned PPS Tdawg046. Unfortunately, both Deano’s retired from the race, and were the only racers to do so.
After this event the standings see thebeardyguy again sitting atop the table on 97pts. In 2nd is TidalSwifty 23 on 61pts, and BakedBean57’s consistent finishes see him move up into 3rd in the table on 53pts and dropping BUCKO VERSUS to 4th on 51pts.
Aaaaaaaaand finally, the first month has ended, which also means, the first rally has ended. Rally of Greece in the mental Group B rally cars came to a close last Friday, and saw the maiden win go to Molebwoy. The Lancia Delta S4 driver managed a very impressive overall time of 53:21.116, beating the Ford RS200 of thebeardyguy by a whole 3 minutes. 3rd was BUCKO VERSUS, again in the Lancia Delta S4, managing a total time of 1:06:03.609, just over 12 minutes off the winning time. Rounding out the final position of drivers who finished the full rally was TheSpig being the bravest of the brave, running his time in the Opel Manta 400, and narrowly missing out on the podium by 1:29.102 which sounds like a lot, but over the course of a full rally, that is one puncture….
So, if you have a spare hour to power through the next rally or more realistically a few spare days to do a couple of stages here and there, feel free to head on over to DiRT and find the league, RoRWorldwide and join in with the dirty fun, although the February event is the tarmac of Rally Deutschland so unless you get it wrong, your car should stay somewhat clean.
And that concludes the first half of the month of February. Don’t forget to keep the wheels turning and happy racing from all of us here at Revolution Online Racing.
