So its that time again. Welcome to the latest edition of Forzanightly, the home of all things Revolution Online Racing! Revolution took a week break for us all to recuperate after the madness of the first two months of racing. Feeling refreshed and excited due to it being the time where all the cars for Formula 1 and BTCC are being released, it was time to head back onto the track.
After our week break, the first track we visited was Brands Hatch GP for Rounds 5&6 of the Scirocco Cup. Qualifying for the event saw a front row lock out for the Revolution drivers. BakedBean57 saw his first Scirocco pole position, ahead of BUCKO VERSUS. A new face took 3rd on the grid, with Tank000001 making his racing debut here at ROR.
BakedBean57 managed to make the most out of his race 1 pole position and maintained the lead going into the tricky turn 1 of Paddock Hill bend. BoostedPluto (formerly known as ObscurePluto7) managed to get a lightning quick start and passed Tank000001 and BUCKO VERSUS before attacking the rear of BakedBean57 for what would turn into a battle lasting several laps. BakedBean57 did eventually break free from the clutches of BoostedPluto, who had slipped into a battle with BUCKO VERSUS and Tank000001. BakedBean57 would go on to take the chequered flag and the maximum points, setting the fastest lap on his way. 2nd would eventually go to BUCKO VERSUS, making it a 1-2 for the Revolution guys. Debutant Tank000001 held off BoostedPluto to impress everyone who was in attendance.

Due to his fastest lap in race 1, BakedBean57 started race 2 on pole, ahead of BoostedPluto, BUCKO VERSUS and Tank000001. For the most part, the front row of the grid got off to a good start but BUCKO VERSUS slid off wide due to cold tyres on his Scirocco R and ended up in the gravel. This saw him plummet to the back of the field. This incident saw the pack check-up in avoidance, allowing BakedBean57 to pull away from the pack. Soon after, BakedBean57 made a mistake through dingle-dell which put him wide at Stirlings Bend. This gifted the lead to BoostedPluto. A battle for the lead commenced for the next few laps between BoostedPluto and Tank000001, which saw former race leader BakedBean57 approaching with gusto. Ultimately, the battling between the two for the lead cost the pair of them as BakedBean57 managed to slip past them and retake the lead. He would then advance further from the still battling pair who continued to fight it out for the remainder of the race. Late in the race, BUCKO VERSUS joined the party, turning this into a 3-way battle which would nearly last for the rest of the race until misfortune struck BoostedPluto, who dropped down the grid after a spin. BakedBean57 maintained his lead and made it to the chequered flag and took another race win. With another fastest lap under his belt, this saw a first here at ROR with a single driver taking the maximum of 53 points. Tank000001 was the best of the rest, finishing in 2nd position and coming between another Revolution 1-2.
So, after rounds 5&6, the championship standings are as follows; BakedBean57 is in 1st with 124 points, BUCKO VERSUS is in 2nd with 81 points, and BoostedPluto is in 3rd with 73 points. There is quite a big gap between the top 3 and 4th as TheSpig and TidalSwifty23 are tied on 44 points.
Next up saw Rounds 7&8 of the GMC Pick Up Truck Championship and a little change up as these races were on a track rather than an oval. They were put to the test around the former airfield of Silverstone and the full GP circuit was the stomping ground.
Qualifying saw thebeardyguy gain pole position for race 1 with a time of 2:25.823, 1.421 seconds clear of second placed BakedBean57. Race 1 saw thebeardyguy take a 'lightstoflag' victory, seeing off turns 2 to 3 without incident. As the beardy guy began to pull away, the battle for 2nd position heated up, with FIA LMC Alflo amongst others fighting it out for laps upon laps. After qualifying so well, BakedBean57 was involved in a lap 1 scuffle with several other drivers and fairing the worst, he had to battle his way through the field to try and recover positions he has lost. Eventually, he managed to join the battle for 2nd, bringing Tyronee487163 up to the front with him. The battle between the 3 was hard fought but relatively fair, with FIA LMC Alflo clinching 2nd ahead of BakedBean57 and Tyronee487163 with less than 2 seconds covering 2nd, 3rd and 4th over the finish line, which showed it to be a close racing affair. The point for fastest lap went to thebeardyguy who has become one with the box on wheels that is the GMC Syclone.
This also meant that thebeardyguy would start on pole for race 2. Just behind him was BoostedPluto, the only other driver able to get a clean lap in race 1. This meant that BakedBean57 and Tyronee487163 would start much farther down the field as the had set 'dirty' laps in the previous race. This saw GenuineGull095 and Pimms UKSF on the second row of the grid. The front pair managed to pull a healthy lead over the rest of the pack, with thebeardyguy

again showing he was still 'at one' with the box on wheels and even pulled away from BoostedPluto. The South African would then be caught by the hard charging BakedBean57 and Tyronee487163 who had started down in 5th and 6th respectively. This then became a 4-man battle for the runners up spots on the podium with GenuineGull095 making the most of his grid start position, putting him in the prime position for a battle. After laps and laps of battling, the 4-man battle was whittled down to only two, with GenuineGull095 dropping off the pace and Tyronee487163 making a slight mistake which dropped them both out of contention for a podium finish. This left BoostedPluto and BakedBean57 to battle it out, which they did, until the very end, with BoostedPluto coming out on top by the slimmest margin of 0.5 seconds. With all of the clean air, thebeardyguy took the bonus point for fastest lap, making him the second driver to take home the maximum 53 points.
Here are the championship standings after Rounds 7&8; thebeardyguy in 1st position with 187 points, BakedBean57 in 2nd with 108 points, and TheSpig in 3rd with 85 points. Not far behind the top three ar; FIA LMC Alflo in 4th with 79 points and BoostedPluto in 5th with 77 points.
Finally, we have Rounds 5&6 of the Revolution Touring Car Championship which were racing at Monza's Full Grand Prix Circuit and popular it proved to be. A record breaking turn out for us here at Revolution Online Racing with a massive 21 drivers racing. The excitement of racing in such a big starting grid got to some of the drivers as was shown in the racing, but first, qualifying.
thebearyguy's Revolution Online Racing Audi S3 took pole position for race 1, with the Mercedes A-Class of FIA LMC Alflo 2nd on the grid, the only two cars who managed to get into the 1:58's. ZeroRumble56844 started in 3rd ahead of GenuineGull095.
Unfortunately for several drivers, they wouldn't experience the full extent go racing alongside 19 other cars, as Gdad Bilko stalled his BMW off the line, creating a large blockade which DEADorGONE could not avoid, ending both of their raced before they had even began. Another incident occurred on the start line, with the fast-starting Chevrolet Cruze of firben getting a much better start than the Mercedes A-Class of FeltDeano1971, resulting in another collision. More bumping at the very narrow and tight turn 1-2 chicane where all the cars concertina together amazingly caused no

major collisions or serious damage. The action was everywhere in this race. FIA LMC Alflo in the Mercedes got a better start off the front row than the Audi of thebeardyguy and made a pass stick into the first turns. He stuck out front for all of 3 laps before he dropped to second under the pressure of thebeardyguy. Behind the battle for the lead there was plenty of close racing, possibly too much to write about so be sure to head over to our YouTube channel and subscribe to keep up to date with our videos of the racing. With a classic touring car race throughout there were battles pretty much all the way down the grid. The eventual winner, thebeardyguy, went and took fastest lap with a 1:57.9. FIA LMC Alflo finished in 2nd, ahead of TidalSwifty23 and BUCKO VERSUS in 3rd and 4th.
Race 2 was a much less clean affair. After everyone (sort of) made it through turns 1-2 cleanly in race 1, you'd expect them to be able to repeat it, right? Wrong! The reverse grid saw newcomer QuadClub2 and Gdad Bilko starting at the front. Thankfully, for Gdad Bilko and the rest of the grid, he managed to get off the start without any troubles but the other BMW of DFOLEY64 was the one who stalled this time around, creating carnage and ultimately ending his race before it began. TidalSwifty23 was the unlucky driver who felt the brunt of the stalling of DFOLEY64, with his Mercedes ploughing into the stricken car. At the first turn, there was even more carnage with cars not giving enough racing or breaking room for the tight first corner at Monza, resulting in a minefield of damage. Many cars suffered terminal damage or damage severe enough to retire later in the race. The happiest driver to leave the carnage behind was Ralflet, who was racing his first weekend with us here at ROR. He managed to make it past the first corner carnage to gather an unassailable lead over the course of the opening laps. He took his first ever win on only his second race so a shout out and congrats to him for that! After all drivers had calmed down, racing resumed to its normal state. With Ralflet taking the chequered flag, thebeardyguy finished 2nd and BakedBean57 managed to get his Toyota Avensis onto the podium which was no mean feat around the speed concerned track that is Monza. Unfortunately, this race saw a large number of DNF's due to damage or failures, seeing a total of 8 cars unable to finish the race.
After Rounds 5&6, the championship standings are as follows; thebeardyguy is in 1st position with 143 points, TidalSwifty23 is in 2nd position with 82 points, and BakedBean57 is in 3rd position with 70 points.
That wraps it up for this edition of Forzanightly. We would just like to say a big thank you to everyone for your continued support of our series and site, it means a lot to only be in our third month and to have the following we have already. Until next time, we'll see you out on the track.
Keep the wheels turning!
