Welcome to another edition of Forzanightly, the home to all of your Revolution Online Racing related news.

To kick things off, we have the Australian Touring Car Championship coming from Sonoma, a track which is fast becoming a fan favourite here at ROR and never failing to bring an exciting racing spectacle. The first race saw the debut of cal mozza1990, and right from the bat it seemed he would become one to keep an eye on.

Race 1 went much the same way as the rest of the season with the Nissan GTR drivers showing just how quick that car really is, and easily disposing of the pole sitter BakedBean57. Tyronee487163 stuck it to the Nissans but narrowly missed the top step of the podium. thebeardyguy finished in 1st with BoostedPluto finishing in 3rd, making it a Nissan GTR sandwich with some Fords RS500 filling. Race 1 saw an impressive finish for cal mozza1990 on his first outing finishing in 5th position.

Race 2 was yet another dominant showing for the Nissans, this time seeing them lock out the podium. BoostedPluto finished in 1st ahead thebeardyguy, with rookie cal mozza1990 taking the final step of the podium. Unfortunately, Tyronee487163 couldn't repeat his first race heroics as he got tangled with a back marker, resulting in a DNF. It was a hard race for both of the Alfa GTV'6's as DEADorGONE had to retire and BakedBean57 had an altercation with another back marker and was unable to catch cal mozza1990 for that last step on the podium. Race 2 also saw the debut of steylm1 who finished just behind Pimms UKSF in 6th position even after pitting twice due to damage.

With only two racing weekends remaining for the ATCC and the top 4 drivers of the championship only separated by 40 points, all is still to play for. So let's see how comes out on top at Long Beach which is sure to be an interesting racing weekend.

Next up saw the return of the ever challenging Lotus Exige Cup, which this weekend moved to Belgium for the next two races around the fantastic Spa De Francorchamps. A track that would definitely allow the 400hp Lotus Exige S to spread its wings and really show how quick and capable the car is.

Race 1 saw Ralflet start from the back of the pack and make his way all the way to the front for a first place finish, meaning he took some valuable championship points but also gained some of the not so valuable ballast for race 2. Yet again, thebeardyguy and BoostedPluto reignited their rivalry and fought it out until the end for 2nd place which eventually went to thebeardyguy. The best of the ballast carriers was BakedBean57 in 4th, and after an impressive race Zx WULLY finished in 6th position.

Race 2 was a race of attrition from start to finish. steylm1 took his first win on his first weekend racing here at ROR, and a battle for 2nd consisted of five cars on the last lap. The race started with the usual tactics of when the pit, with many drivers pitting early to see if they could pull of the undercut and capitalise on their fellow racers pitting later in the race. steylm1 streaked away from the pack with no ballast and clean air providing the perfect race winning combination, but the ballast carriers had something to prove. The last lap was the tightest we have ever seen it here at ROR and is truly amazing to see that after 20 minutes of racing, 5 cars were fighting for the same bit of tarmac and that important step on the podium. Something had to give, and disaster struck for BakedBean57 and BoostedPluto as the two cars touched, and in trying to correct themselves, the fast approaching Ralflet got caught up in the mix. The cars regrouped, with positions lost and gained, and one things for sure, you will definitely want to check out the ROR YouTube channel to find out how the drivers faired and who came out on top...

Finally, we have the first rounds of the Type R Cup. After a long time in the making with a lot of the ROR racing community being involved with the tuning, testing and track list, the Type R Cup made its racing debut at Sebring. This is the first time a multi-class race series has been on the calendar here at ROR and we were excited to see how it was received by those competing. Its safe to say that on their first outing, these little Vtec beasts didn't disappoint!

Race 1 was an intense battle up and down the field, with the top 4 finishing drivers crossing the finish line with a super tiny gap of only 0.8 of a second! BakedBean57 took the first win of the Type R Cup, just ahead of thebeardyguy and third placed BUCKO VERSUS. The fight went on all race long with Ralflet taking the early lead but due to damage, the Class A cars of BUCKO VERSUS, BakedBean57 and thebeardyguy made light work of the wounded FN2. Making a return to racing this weekend were DFLOEY64 and TheyCallMeVTEC, who we can only guess why he decided to return for this one! Back up front, BUCKO VERSUS opted for an early pit stop and gifted BakedBeaen57 the lead. Further down the field saw a nice battle for 3rd between steylm1 and Weblomaniac, showing the Scotsman's new found need for speed. As the race progressed, both BakedBean57 and thebeardyguy decided to pit one after the other, and as they rejoined the track, BUCKO VERSUS blasted past them and back into the lead resulting in the top 3 being separated by a few feet. Also to keep them on their toes was the arrival of Mr.Being Tyronee487163 who had carved his way through the field. With two laps to go, BakedBean57 got a great drive from the last corner and drew alongside BUCKO VERSUS, and with luck on his side, BakedBean57 made the move around the outside to regain the lead. thebeardyguy capitalised on BakedBean57's move and took the same line into the corner to take 2nd. This was how the race ended, making the Type R's debut an exciting one to watch.

Race 2 saw the grid flipped according to fastest lap and with ballast coming into play, it wasn't safe to predict who would come out on top. The top 4 carried ballast into the next race, along with TheyCallMeVTEC who, due to unsportsmanlike behaviour, was also given ballast after putting his breaks on just before the line to avoid getting ballast. The field was also extended by the arrival of Pimms UKSF and firben, meaning the number of racers grew to 15. Gdad Bilko had an unfortunate beginning to his race as he was collected by firben in turn one. TheyCallMeVTEC caused drama as when two cars in front of him parted, he ended up in the rear of the camouflage menes reus claiming it was 'unsighted', and prompting menes reus to change the livery of his car to a high visibility colour for the next rounds. thebeardyguy didn't get off to a great start, seeing him get turned around after an issue with 2 other cars. Pimms UKSF was doing well in 2nd until the pressure from firben saw him make a mistake and drop into 3rd place. In an attempt to regain the place, Pimms UKSF careered into the tyres on the final turn and saw him drop to 10th position over the line. BUCKO VERSUS was put under pressure from Weblomaniac showing once again the Scotsman's need for speed. BakedBean57 took to the pits with Tyronee487163 nearly following, but changing his mind at the last minute and nearly hitting the pit wall. When Tyronee487163 did eventually pit, BUCKO VERSUS made sure to follow him. When the duo were in the pit, the quick and quiet steylm1 and firben regained the final steps on the podium. Unfortunately for BUCKO VERSUS, he lost out to the '97 Civics of GenuineGull095 and BakedBean57 who had latched onto the back of Tyronee487163 and the ballast free car of GenuineGull095 breezed past on the back straight. GenuineGull095 carried on momentum to catch firben and take 3rd spot from the returning RookieRaceline driver. The last lap saw 3rd to 7th split by a couple of seconds, as steylm1 and Ralflet set off into the sunset. Tyronee487163 tried his best to keep 5th and even tried blocking BakedBean57 down the back straight but this lead to a poor entrance to the final corner, seeing BakedBean57's nimble EK9 jump him to bring home 5th by one tenth of a second. Further down the field, Pimms UKSF tried a rather brave move on thebeardyguy into the last corner but theybeardyguy got the drive to take 8th by two tenths of a second.

The Civics have proven to be an exciting race weekend and we can't wait for their return on the 16th of July around Brands Hatch.

That's a wrap for this edition of Forzanightly. We hope you have enjoyed having a little scroll and hope to see you on track sometime soon.

From the team @ ROR

Keep the wheels turning!
